Robert Gammal's newest animated feature film "Rooted" is a must see for anyone who has, is contemplating having or knows some one who has a root canal. Somehow the director has managed to make this otherwise boring topic a riveting and even entertaining presentation. Robert explains in elegant detail both with animation and interviews of victims who were injured by their own dead teeth exactly what is wrong with trying to retain dead teeth in the body. His 78 minute film relies heavily upon peer reviewed scientific research over the last 80 years that has more than adequately demonstrated the very real and dangerous problems with dead teeth.
Robert is well aware to the resistance of the
dental profession and
sometimes the public to new and controversial information. To better
facilitate the scholars in the audience he has combined his film
with the web site www.rooted.tv where he has posted all of the relevant
scientific studies and copies of the actual correspondence with
supposed root canal experts. This not only lends credibility to
an otherwise controversial subject it tells the viewers that this
director really did his homework before he spoke. When Robert speaks

In Dr. Robert Gammal's second DVD offering within two years, Rooted carries on with the powerful dissident articulation against blatantly incoherent thought in the dental paradigm that was first articulated (against mercury amalgam fillings) in Quecksilber (Reviewed Medical Veritas 1(2) 2005: 489). This time he turns his attention (along with his most impressive production and computer generated image skills) to the practice of Endodontics-otherwise known as root canal treatment.
At the heart of Dr. Gammal's argument is an assertion that should really be seen as a truism: that the common practice of allowing a dead part of the human body to remain within that body, spewing forth extremely dangerous endotoxins along with carcinogenic chemicals (such as formaldehyde, as added by the procedure itself), is not such a great idea. Such assertions are backed up, not just by 283 references (most of them taken directly from peer-reviewed scientific journals) but from direct experience, given in the testimonial interviews of his patients themselves.
These testimonials are nothing short of remarkable. Of special note are two cases: one of a man who experienced symptoms of multiple sclerosis (MS) that rapidly onset after having a root canal procedure, and after nine months of enduring the severe neurological symptoms, he had the root canal removed, after which followed a rapid (one week) subsidence of most of the MS symptoms. Another testimonial came from a girl who was given a root canal procedure and subsequently diagnosed with a 12 millimetre macroprolactinoma (pituitary gland cancer). Surgery and/or chemotherapy were the "solutions" proferred by the medical establishment for her problem. Given the bleak prognosis for a normal life thereafter, she chose not to undergo surgery or chemotherapy but rather to spend a year on "trying alternatives". Three months after the removal of her root canal, her blood was clear of the previously elevated (x10) levels of prolactin, and the tumour had disappeared.
As the DVD makes clear, the case against the procedure is strong, and the answer given by the Australian Association of Endodentologists to Dr. Gammal's enquiries as to the scientific evidence supporting the safety of the procedure is unbelievably weak. The flippant and surreal answer, also reprinted within the DVD and at http://www.lammag.com/rooted/EndoLetters.htm should be seen as an extreme insult against human health, and one that is-to quote Weston Price, the product of "confidence and ignorance". The attitude is paralleled by the response of the doctor of the girl who suffered from and then spontaneously remissed from the prolactinoma: who didn't really seem to care. She summed up this attitude as well as could anyone: "it was pretty sad, really". Lack of care is surely an endemic factor in the neglect of this topic.
Gammal's understanding of the peripheral issues in play here are demonstrated well via his consideration of topics such as the "focus of neural interference" via Ferdinand and Walter Huneke's Neural Therapy, the real biological nature of tooth health and disease, and the quoting of Jacques Bienveniste on the suppression of true scientific inquiry.
This DVD drives home very strongly the play on words embedded within the title, alluding to the threat against every recipient of root canal treatment. A short review such as this cannot hope to do any justice to the excellent work which is Rooted, and I strongly suggest that any owner of teeth-or for anyone who knows such an individual-that they should not only see the DVD but replay it numerous times. The corollary of this work should be of extreme import to all medical practitioners, and not merely dentists: for the ability of a root canal to cause severe systemic illness via focal infection is a dreadfully underrated cause of illness in society, which needs to be seriously considered in any proper understanding of the disease process, or any attempt to alleviate suffering. -MKP

This DVD is a must see for anyone who wants to live a long healthy happy life! Anyone who wants energy and vitality! I have known Bob Gammal for over 20 years and he has always been a pioneer - and ahead of his time!
He has championed the dangers and eradication of amalgam and root canals for those 20 years - and suffered derision and ridicule from his professional peers. Regardless, his passion for the truth has made him persevere against many extreme difficulties - he is like Linus Pauling who fought to have vitamin C recognised for the critical role it plays. Linus pauling was ultimately proved right but not before he endured ridicule and opposition - the medical profession, his own peers, ridiculed his research and almost ruined his career. NOW what do they say about Vitamin C?
Bob will be like Linus Pauling. He advocated the danger of amalgums 20 years ago and only NOW , after much ridicule and derision and professional attacks , are some dental associations acknowledging that amalgums release mercury - one of the most toxic substances on earth. They banned the use of them in sweden; in canada it is illegal to use them in pregnant women; several US dental associations are finally advising dentists to put warning signs up in their offices.
You will find the same will happen with root canals. They may or may not affect your health - although I suspect they will - but even if they don't, you need to know this information so at least you can make informed decisions. And keep your children well.
